From Flat to Future-Ready: The Evolution of NAI Ohio Equities’ People-First Strategy

For more than five decades, NAI Ohio Equities has been a fixture in Central Ohio’s commercial real estate landscape, earning a reputation for its expertise, tailored service, and client relationships that stand the test of time.

But the first 55 years were just the beginning of the story.

As the organization reflects on its past and looks toward the future, it’s preparing for unprecedented regional growth, rapid changes in technology, and a wave of workers who grew up with technology entering the workplace.

It became crystal clear that the next 50 years would require something more – a robust, future-ready operation designed to support its people and strengthen its foundation for long-term growth.

NAI Ohio Equities was founded by George “Sandy” Simpson in 1971 and in 2014 his son, Michael, took over as President of the company. Mike’s vision for the future seeks to embrace the legacy his father built – an organization energized by entrepreneurial spirit and rooted in relationships – while evolving and building the internal capacity to thrive.

Central to this evolution is the promotion of Tizzie Nuss to Chief Operations Officer. Her leadership has already been instrumental in shaping the company’s operational framework, and this expanded role solidifies her impact at a pivotal moment.

As COO, Nuss is helping guide the organization through a period of modernization and alignment assuring that processes, systems, and teams are not only keeping pace with demand, but working together seamlessly to support long-term strategy. Her leadership has been marked by clarity, care, and a deep commitment to building a workplace where people can do their best work.

Over the past year alone, NAI Ohio Equities has made more than a dozen new hires and celebrated 12 promotions across the company, reinforcing a commitment to both professional growth and operational excellence. These changes signal something bigger; they reflect a strategic rethinking of how the organization supports its people and clients.

Becoming “future ready” has meant intentionally strengthening internal systems, adding new roles and capabilities, and creating clearer pathways for advancement. It’s a structure where collaboration, leadership, and opportunity have room to grow.

It’s a transformation rooted in the culture being cultivated—one built with intention. It’s the story of an organization choosing to evolve with purpose. It’s a recognition that growth doesn’t happen by accident, it's cultivated through investment in people, systems, structure, and leadership.

With a strengthened operational framework, a wave of new talent, and Tizzie Nuss stepping into the role of COO, NAI Ohio Equities is positioning for what comes next.
