Steelton Village Rebirth Attracts Small Businesses to The Fort
NAI Ohio Equities had a strong October with more than 26 closings last month. Our office sold or leased more than 255,000 square feet, and signed or renewed leases with 17 tenants.
Our October closed transactions include the addition of several new tenants to The Fort, our featured property. The Fort, located on Columbus’ south end in Steelton Village, serves as a business incubator to roughly 30 tenants including a number of creative studios and business professionals.
Set in a former 19th-century ladder and fire truck factory, The Fort is a reimagined space that serves to anchor the Steelton Village community as it is given new life. It features a raw, industrial feel which is ideal for customization and facilitates collaboration and community.

Created by industry professionals who were fed up with low-quality tools, Crew Supply is redefining barware, placing innovation and reusability at the center of everything they do. Crew Supply will house their fulfillment and e-commerce operations out of their new 1,500 SF space.
Mission Coffee wants to share its love of all things coffee. From offering quality, sustainable, in-house roasted coffees to education. Mission Coffee will now house their roasting and retail operations at The Fort.
Founded in 2014 by best friends and independent jewelry artists who decided to join forces, The Smithery offers one-of-a-kind, hand-forged pieces. The Smithery owners, Jen and Anne, are focused on sustainability – recycling precious metals and featuring natural gemstones – and will use their new space as a studio.
Focused on modern, hand-illustrated prints, stationery, and gifts that are colorful, irreverent and thought-provoking, And Here We Are, will house its manufacturing operations out of its built-to-suit studio. Each printed piece is hand-drawn and printed on an antique press at The Fort.
The Speculo Group wants to bring your story to life and specializes in doing so by leveraging digital mediums. Focused on brand awareness, brand recognition and brand loyalty, The Speculo Group will provide SEO, web design, social media, paid search, analytics, and Google Ads services. The organization will leverage its new space to grow its marketing team with the hope of launching a new app to further connect small businesses.
